Trains, planes, and automobiles!

For Christmas break this year I got the opportunity to go to California to see my Dad!! It seems like the prices for planes just keep going up and up now, so we decided that a train is the way to go! What's really great about this trip is that I am not all alone for the 58 hours we have to travel which is great! As it turns out my boyfriend is coming along for the trip with me! We have brought everything possible to keep us entertained during the really longs hours of traveling. Like movies, books, iPods and our phone to play games on. So far we have traveled 30 hours and we have about half the trip to California done! We went through North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington state and now Portland Oregon. As I am writing this we are sitting, waiting in the train station here in Portland we have about four hours on a stopover here so we went walking around to get a bit of a look of the city. I find this area we are in is rather empty outside, this must be the old part of town. We went walking around and I found most of the population on the streets were homeless people. The architecture of this station is really really cool, just like the one back home in Winnipeg. During my trip I will try and keep my blog updated with how my trip is going. So look forward to more posts coming soon!!!

New Bucket List

So I have decided that I am going to make a second bucket list. The reason I am making a second one is because my first one was more of a travel type kind of bucket list. This new one I am about to write out will be a more simple one, things that I believe will be easier for me at the moment to cross off the list!

We have began to create our own bucket list lately. I believe with my bucket list it will take ages for me to figure out what should really be on it. But one thing I found is that my bucket list seems to consist  almost of all things that have to do with travel somewhere to do something... I think it will be really hard for me to actually complete my bucket list properly. I doubt I will ever make enough money to travel to all these amazing places and do these amazing things.  So I think my mission in the next few days will have to be coming up with maybe another bucket list.

The bucket list I wrote previously I think I'll rename to be my travel one!

There are so many things that I have seen on people's bucket list that I have already done. For example

Gone to Italy and rode in a gondola in Venice!
I have been in a marathon, I completed one when I was in grade 5!
I have been on a helicopter ride!
I have drank cocnut milk!
Rode a mecanhical bull!
I have hepled to sponser a child!
I have road a horse through water!

and many more.. I can say I have been very lucky these past 17 almost 18 years. I have been given many many great oppourtunities in life already..... God only knows what the future holds for me!

AND I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT!!!!!

Reading and Writing Reflection

Writing perspective: Writing twitter fiction these past few weeks has gone well. For most of the tweets I actually didn't find it too hard to get into 140 characters. Only about one or two of them I actually had to sit there on twitter and thing really hard what I wanted to put in it. What I learnt about myself as writer during this is that I definitely don't like have a limit to how big my story is. I like to be able to establish the story and characters a lot more. When publishing my work on twitter it was a little weird to think how huge the audience might actually be. When posting on blogger my audience isn't that big it's mostly the class and some of my family reading it, but this was a whole different story.

Reading perspective: The twitter fiction that I read was Alina Simones. Here story was about about break ups, the title of all of them was called Antaomy of a Break Up. I chose to read this because her stories where easy to follow, you didn't have to always read the one before to understand what was going on. It was weird to be able to just sit on twitter for almost a whole hour so browsing around and just read every ones twitter. I was surprised at how deep and rather dark some people went while writing their twitter fiction, but it made for some really good tweets.

About twitter: This assignment didn't really change my perspective of twitter, I honestly still don't really like it at all. It not something I will continue with after.
